The inaugural batch of Morris Port Barrel was an exclusive collaboration with our good friends at The Whisky Club, the world’s biggest community of whisky lovers.  Described as a ‘chewy and decadent feast of plump stone fruits and nutty caramel’, the whisky sold out in no time, so was clearly a fan favourite.

Owing that the first released scored DOUBLE GOLD as San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2024, this second small batch release of Morris Port Barrel has some big shoes to fill. This time around maturation took place in ex Barossa shiraz barrels, predominantly American Oak. The barrels were hand selected by the distillery team for their ability to influence the whisky with heightened flavours of red fruit and sweet spice, and each barrel was charred to varying levels to create layers of toasted complexity. Upon maturation the whisky underwent extended finishing in Morris family aged Tawny casks to amplify the vibrant port flavours.

TASTING NOTES
Our prize-winning aged Tawny port casks impart complexity and decadent layers of plump stone fruits, ripe red berry and rich chocolate flavours.  

COLOUR: Tawny and chestnut with ruby hues.

NOSE: Notes of glace cherry, chocolate coated cinnamon rolls and hints of desiccated coconut.

PALATE: Bright dark red fruit flavours ascend through the middle palate exposing milk chocolate, raspberry sweets, followed by blueberry mingling with dabs of liquorice.

FINISH: The combination of rich chocolate, warm spice and savoury notes along with blackberry, all linger for an extensive decadent finish.
