The growing season was marked by mild temperatures and well below average rainfall throughout spring and summer, producing fruit with small berries that delivered excellent colour and intense flavours. Harvested in March and April at 13°–14° baumé, the grapes were crushed and fermented for 5–8 days with regular pumping over to extract colour and flavour. The resulting wines were carefully blended and matured for 14 months in French and American oak hogsheads, allowing the varietal characters to develop fully and integrate with subtle oak complexity.

WINEMAKER'S NOTES

COLOUR: Deep brick red.

AROMA: Minty and leafy varietal characters with a subtle influence of oak evident.

PALATE: A full flavoured wine showing mint and blackcurrant flavours, the influence of careful oak treatment and balanced with the fruit and oak tannins.

ABV: 13.5%
